Bed and Breakfast Accommodation Christchurch

If you love art, shopping and food,
the Christchurch Arts Centre will provide hours of just what you need!

The Arts Centre

In the centre of Christchurch is what is known as the Cultural Precinct. When staying at Stoneleigh Lodge bed and breakfast accommodation Christchurch Cultural Precinct is worth a visit. It gives one an insight into the culture, heritage and history of Christchurch as well as the surrounding district of Canterbury. The Cultural Precinct encompasses a wide variety of activities, from boating on the Avon River to fine art, museums and outdoor markets. All these are within easy walking distance from the centre of the city, or you can get a ride on one of the historic trams that loop about the centre of the city.

The Arts Centre is a series of beautiful old stone buildings that were originally the University of Canterbury. The Gothic revival cloisters are well worth a stroll. See Sir Earnest Rutherford's den where he worked on splitting the atom!

While you are there you can visit one of the many shops selling unique New Zealand crafts and art, or, on Sundays you can attend the open air markets selling everything from crafts to antiques. You might also like to sit and have your portrait drawn by one of the artists on hand.

"Your bed and breakfast accommodation at Stoneleigh offers you easy access to Christchurch city."
