Willowbank Wildlife Experience

Take a gander at the kiwis just down the road from our Christchurch luxury bed & breakfast. Willowbank wild life reserve has these and a wide range of other wildlife, both native and introduced. New Zealand has some of the strangest wildlife in the world. The kiwi is just one of a number of flightless birds that evolved in New Zealand. Unfortunately some of the most spectacular birds such as the enormous moa have become extinct since the arrival of man. Others like the huge green parrot, the kakapo, are facing a very uncertain future. Even the kiwi, our national icon is now becoming scarcer. Willowbank has kiwis and much more.
