Tandem Jumping

While staying at Stoneleigh Lodge near Christchurch, there are plenty of ways to take to the sky! There are a wide variety of options, which can suit all tastes.

For the more adventurous there is sky diving. With 2 to 3 hours of training you can do a breath-taking tandem sky dive. The exact details may vary, but generally you get a 10-20 minuter flight to altitude followed by the jump itself. Depending on the altitude you jump from you can get up to 60 seconds free fall (from 15,000 feet). After this you have about five minutes parachute descent to enjoy the view and catch your breath. The contrast between the absolute exhilaration and adrenaline rush of the free fall and the quiet of the ride once the parachute opens will be a revelation!

If you wish you can even have your photo taken while you are in the air.

Tandem jumping is available 7 days a week, but is weather dependent.
